Rattling/Backfire from Exhaust?

this happens to my truck too, and its not cold when it happens. if i rev the motor up in neutral, when the rpms are coming back down the exhaust will rattle and make noise. the only thing i can think of is that the motor is getting too much fuel and cant burn it under no load??? i dunno, but whatever it is i dont think its anything to worry about.
