Hello Quentin!!! or anybody else,

Can you tell me scoop on TSB 05-5-15 and 05-4-17. I still have a rough idle and the dealer says i have the latest calibration (done on March 24, 05). This was the 4-21-14 TSB. These latest tsb came out March 21st, i think. Will these help my truck?

Thanks in advance

Not sure about those, but I just had a reflash yesterday, under TSB 05-10-02. Made a noticible difference on low end and idle quality.

An update, The customer service manager would not do ANY of the TSB mentioned above because they said that my truck had the latest flash. Not likely as it was done in January (not March 24th as previously stated). he also said that the stuttering idle was normal. At this point, i told him i would go sit in any of his trucks on the lot and compare idles.

Thanks

they did the 05-10-(I'm sorry, I can't remember the last number and they said they had to MAIL me the paperwork) reflash to my truck yesterday and the throttle response, power, and ability to pull some rpms have all improved a little bit. Now it'll spin the tires a bit from a dead stop and it revs to about 5100 in first.

I aked where they put the calibration code sticker and they said that they dont give that out to customers. They said it was stored in ford's computer so that should be good enough for me. Is there a need for me (or troyer) to have that code? Also, is this ford's policy and can someone point me to any documentation stating otherwise (CARB) etc.

I need to change dealers.

From what I've read you need this code for the SCT XCalibrator 2.

That's B.S. because you're not required to take your vehicle to ford for service therefore that calibration code should be available to anyone servicing the truck, including you...for a programmer or not. I thought by law they have to put the new calibration code on there because they altered the emissions of the vehicle after it was delivered

The authorized modifications decal is federal law...an emissions related component (in this case, the PCM) was altered under directive of Ford Motor Company. Yes, the fact that the PCM was reprogrammed is stored in your vehicle's warranty history, but that doesn't include the new module number.

I'm gonna take it to another dealer tomorrow and see if i can get the idle fixed. Maybe they will fix it right. On another note, i got the dealer to replace the two front tires. It was an act of congress, they said that abnormal tire wear was not part of the extended warranty. I couldnt find my letter so i couldnt argue. They can be such jerks... Thank God for the for forums here. We wouldnt have a chance against them.

I didn't see a new sticker after mine was done either. I'll call the dealer tomorrow to see if they typically don't put one on or if they forgot, just for comparison.

No stickers at my dealership

My dealership says they haven't put reflash stickers underhood for years. They tell me that Ford stopped requiring it after OBDII came out, as it is all supposed to be stored in the computer's memory. Who knows?

I've never understood what's so difficult about writing the module's new number on a decal and sticking it on the radiator support cover. If anything, the sticker is a quick and easy heads up for the next guy to work on the truck to see that the PCM has been recalibrated at least once before.
