Audiophile in place of standard XLT radio

Is the Audiophile head unit a direct swap for the standard XLT head unit? What else is required to make the swap? I want to be able to play all the mp3s that I have, but the standard XLT head unit won't do it.

Thanks

I picked a 6cd MP3 player from a 2005 Lariat off of ebay for 150$. It went in in under 10 minutes and works great. I have heard some people having problems but mine went very smoothly.

Mine swapped right out no problem at all. My XLT 6 cd stereo fritzed out on
me 98 miles into my ownership ( clock spazzed ) so the dealer had the tech
go into the yard to find another 6 cd player and he rolled up with a Lariat
and right in front of me they pulled the audiophile out and 10 minutes later
I'm driving out with a Ford stereo upgrade.. All's well with the
sound in my cab now, 'til I upgrade later this summer with a crazy system
( new speakers, amp, etc.. ) then it'll be even bettera ( ya it will )

jztbcz,

If and when you upgrade, I'll like to talk to you about your 6CD player.

Just remember not every audiophile HU will play MP3s. My 04 won't.
