im buying a 1714 on ebay that hasnt been VIN locked. I don't know how to use it, is it pretty self explainatory or do I need a manual, it doesnt come with one. What all can I do with it ? Anyone wanna help me out ? Is this gonna make the shifting on my truck real rough ? I have a 2004 4x4 super crew lariat, just lookin for more HP and passing power, also improved gas mileage if possible, but you don't buy a truck for good gas mileage. Any help from anyone would be appericiated.

Thanks,
Andrew Keene

It's pretty easy to use. I looked at my manual the first time, almost wished I hadn't. It was full of things that don't apply.

Find the port under the steering wheel, plug it in, key off, and follow the onscreen instructions. Don't bother with options the first time you do it. Not hard, just more information than you need.
Don't have anything electric on, just to be sure you have plenty of juice, as the engine won't be running while you do it.
It will take five to ten minutes total. When it is loading a tune, just lay it down and relax for two-five minutes.

Superchips default shift setting is a litttle firm. I like it, but that's something you can change if you want.

When you get it, post if you have any specific questions.
