Thats not a bad idea, but duct tape works just as good to keep the mud out

 

I'd leave them wide open. You don't want moisture to collect in there, then rot out the metal. Take it from a guy from NH and upstate NY, don't seal up anything you can instead let breath.

 

Honestly, I wouldn't waste $15 for it but I was just letting everyone else in on the find.

 

I've had them on for over a year ... they are generic square and round plastic plugs ... the square ones are very open you might say as they are square but cut to fit a not so square hole. The round ones that I got first are open and have slots and certainly don't fit air tight ... got another set of round ones with the square ones that I gave away ... but they were slightly different and I'm not sure if they were breathable or not ... the bag had a rubber tube to tighten the fit if needed so the instructions stated.

 

I have them on my truck and IMO they look way better with them than without.

 

Nice modzzz... going to add it to my list.

 

Sorry for the large pics...I got'em. Doesnt bother me...a waste of money, I guess. You can say it does keep some junk out of the holes...does it matter to me, no? I just get bored of not buying stuff, so I get it. The round ones are definately not air tight, but they havent fallen off yet...heat, snow, dirt...90 mph...still there!
