Is this a good price?
I talked to one of the guys who lifts/lowers all the trucks for my work, and customizes out vehicles for sale to the customer, and I asked him for a quote on doing a lift for my STX. He says he will install a Pro Comp 6" lift, 35" tires on 18" Weld Racing or American Racing wheels (my choice), and install a Flowmaster exhaust for $4900 including tax and everything, as a package. I can then add some Westin side steps for $380 (my price at the dealer), tint the windows for $135, and maybe buy an Airforce1 intake/Xcal combo for around $800-900, since I have the wheezy 4.6L. So, to make my truck go from blah to wow, we're talking $6315. Does this sound like a good price to ya'll? Buying a new truck (Lariat, XLT, whatever) is out of the question right now until my credit score improves a bit more as I make the payments on this one, so I am looking to jazz it up a bit. What do you guys think?
By the way, I am working in vehicle sales making $5000 - $6000 a month, so I have the income to support these kinds of mods. This is something I want to do in time for next Glamis season, so I can go duning. Let me know...
That all sounds good but seems a bit pricey by about 10%. I don't know many people that are very satisfied with the ProComp lift compared to other lifts. It's just my experience talking to others.
You really should change the gear ratio for the 35" tires. It's about $1500.00 for the front and rear gear change. That will help with the "WoW" factor.
The Xcal and intake are a good start but don't stop there. Get a good exhaust (Magnaflow) and E-fans to finish it.
Good Luck.

Find out what he is charging just for the lift. That seems awfully high for just rims, tires a lift and exhaust. The rims and tires can be found for $1,200 or less, the exhaust can be done for $300-$400, so you are looking at over $3,000 just for the lift. Also, I'd look into Troyer performance for the AF1 and Tuner, I think you can snag those from him for about $600.
I think you got the right idea to a kick *** truck, but I think you are paying quite a bit more than normal through this guy. Do some shopping around.

Thanks for the advice guys, I am just getting an idea for prices and what I want for my truck. I may go a different route, not sure. But thanks again for the input.
