Nope, even the stock speakers sound so much better than the Factory headunit or the Clarion headunit that I had.

Oh that reminds me of another question I had earlier.
Does that unit have a built in amplifer circuit or does it requre extermal amps?
Guess you pretty much answered that one since your stock speakers are hooked up.

Thumper where did you find it for $1600? This includes warranty correct? My local CarToys wants $2000 + 300 install. I'm going to pay it but I wouldn't mind saving some ca$h.

That is the unit to bypass your PATS system so your remote start can start you truck without the chipped key.

Im not sure if this unit can not just be used with our truck's keypad but the alarm will go off if you try to use it to punch in the code. The door will still open but the alarm will go off, its nice just in case you locked your keys in there and if some punk is trying to guess your combo!

Nice setup Thumper....

Question: How is the glare on the screen when it's sunny out, any issues seeing the screen?

Thanks!

Ed

Thumper Do you have the reverse sensing system, and does it still work now that you changed head units?
Thanks Trev

Nope I don't have any issues with sun glare, one suggestion for anyone that gets this unit. Go to Office Depot and go to the computer cleaning area and they have these little grey clothes that pick up the lint right up off the screen and get rid of any smudges. Just don't let it get too dirty because you'll scratch your screen.

I opted not to get the reverse sensing system because I thought it took away from the bumper and I had planned on just buying a back-up camera anyways so I can't help you there 1KK.

The 'stock' amplifier is contained in the factory HU itself - no external amp (the Audiophile sub does have an external amp though). The Eclipse has an internal amp within the HU also, but it has 5V outputs that can go to an external amp if you want, but no external amp is required.

Thumper,
Do you happen to have info on the dash install kit used on your truck?
I cant find any part that fits the truck for a double din radio (I bought the same unit). The radio is installed, but I cant find a trim piece that works. A few places I went said all they had was a kit for a single din unit, and they said its going to be hard, if not impossible to find a double din kit.
Thanks for any help!
