Thanks, guys. I appreciate the info.

HIDPLANET - have you shopped around for pricing? Did Al & Ed's have the best price?

Well for $500 installed for the alarm, it was good. Probably competitive but it seemed like other dealers wanted more for the alarm kit.
I plan to buy the Eclipse with my resaller card and do the install myself.

Hey I have a question for you.
Does your unit have auxillary VIDEO inputs so you can add a game system or some other video inout source? If so, how many does it have as well as aux AUDIO outs.

TIA

That looks awesome Thumper. Does the unit have an external antenna for the gps unit? If so do you have any pics?

I got the Eclipse and the alarm installed. Im going to add some component speakers later with a little amp but thats all.

Yes the Eclipse has AUX inputs, how many I don't know. Im pretty sure you'd be able to hook a back-up camera and a gaming system because this is what I was going to do but didn't have enough money and the shop that did it said it was possible.

Yes it has an external antenna. Here it is.

Mounted on the Roof -

The Alarm also has an antenna and here it is.

If your not looking for them you won't even notice because I didn't until about 2 days later after having it installed.

I had the Ford Gold alarm/remote start installed, and the instrution manual says that you should not install the antenna behind the sticker on the front window because it could affect the signal. From what I was told, it is some sort of aluminum sticker. I dont' know the truth of that however.

Where does you antenna leave your cab and get slapped on the roof?

Awesome set-up, when some punks stole my Alpine IVAD-300 and Navigation they offered to send me that one to replace it, awesome stock look, hard drive, But I ended opting for the Pioneer AVIC-N2 cuz I like the XMNavTraffic, and the $700 Check to make up the difference was nice too

I haven't had any problems. I've been able to start and arm the truck probally about 1000 ft away and thats definatly far enough for me.

The antenna comes out of the 3rd brake light and sticks on right in front of it. It's a really clean install and I tested it to make sure it didn't leak and it doesn't.

Very nice look on the HU and can't beat the Clifford either.

One thing I'm curious about though, why would a shop put the LED right next to a non-detachable face?? (Unless you asked them to put it there) They know very well alarms are only deterrence devices. It would take less than 1 min for a pro to rip it and bail. Putting the LED right there is like waiving a big sign saying "Steal Me, Steal Me!!" LOL.

I didn't ask for them to put it there but I think they did only because they figured this way they wouldn't have to drill a hole in something factory. I think Im going to have them mount it in the tray on the dash in the front center and have them get me a new dash kit, one without a hole.

You could always have 6 leds or so installed and have it move back and forth like knight rider
