I think the difference in the rubbing has to do with the Lariat fender flares vs the FX4 fender flares.

What the heck is the difference in the fender flares? Looks identical to me...just curious, anyone know the backspacing of the wheels?

Hey guys, I been looking into that wheel and tire combo for quite some time now. Where did you end up buying them from? I can't find a place to buy them.

Thanks,

Well since your so smart please tell me why the Lariats have rubbing vs the FX4s?

I bought mine from Discount Tire for $1800.

EDIT: They are 5 1/2" back-spacing.

I think you're right about the fender flares, I was expecting to have to do some trimming, but was pleasantly surprised. I dunno though, there seems to be alot less plastic within the fender well on the FX4s than the Lariats..maybe??

Jrbhc8, got mine at discount tire also for a little over $1800...great place, too bad they are the lowest bid i got because supposedly they will beat any price....Nothin beats lifetime balance and rotation either....If any one is interested in my old FX4 rims and tires I have an ad in the classifieds...........

do we know for sure that the FX4 and Lariat 4x4 have the exact same height? There may be a 1/4" difference which accounts for the rubbing.

I've parked next to a friend with a FX4 Supercab with a leveling kit. The trucks roofs were at the same height as far as I could tell and we both had stock tires. Although I've heard of people saying differently even with the same trucks. (I.E.> a FX4 and another FX4 were different heights) Who knows? The trimming I had to do was very minor so who cares.

That's correct. It is possible that two identically built FX4 or Lariats have diffirent heights in the front and back (load being identical too). The difference is minimal though, like 1/4 inch. But still enought to make a difference.
