I'll be going to lunch in about 30 minutes, I'll pull down the console and see what wires I used.

I checked my wiring. The positive lead I spliced to the green wire with an orange stripe and the negative lead I spliced into the black wire furthest from the green/orange stiped wire. When I was installing mine I had used a volt meter to determine which wire had constant power.

Thanks for checking! I got a meter laying around somewhere, so I'll double check to make sure mine's not different. thanks.

Thanks for the heads up on the wiring - I just purchased an 04 Lincoln LS Visor with HomeLink for $20.00 (e-bay) and will be installing it soon.....I really like the overhead console mounting location and may just go ahead and mount it there - but since I have the lighted vanity mirrors - I already have power & ground in the visor and can feel the outline of where the homelink would go in the visor....choices, choices

I dont know if you can feel where the Homelink would fit in your visor but I can tell you that you cant open up the visor withhout breaking. It wasn't easy getting the Homelink out of the visor i bought. There was no way that visor could be used again if anyone had wanted too. You may be able to pull the upholstery off of yours and get it in your visor and run the wires along the edge of the visor and reupholster it. But the Homelink wires would not be concealed like the vanity light wires where they run into the headliner.

yeah, I got mine out of Ford Winstar visors and really had a tough time getting that darn Homelink out of there. The visor was pretty much trashed, and I also cracked apart my Homelink case as well. I need to glue it or tape it back together.

btw, I tried the wires as you said and they work fine (just stuck the homelink wires in the dome light plug as a test). I also put the homelink ground wire in the other black wires as well and it still worked. I will do my install on Saturday when I more time to play with.
