Snow Plow

Anyone have a plow on a 03 or 04? Did you do anything to the suspension or steering? What tires are you running and what plow manufacturer? How does it handle it. I have asked around on a plow site but I get "get a bigger truck".

From Ford, they state that the snow plow prep is only available on the 7700 lb payload package (2003, 2004 heritage model) or the heavy duty payload package (04 05 new model). I assume because they feel the front suspension will not hold up with the extar weight of the snow plow. I am sure someone has done it, but how successfully, I don't know.

the front ends are just not made for it. Unless you have the hd payload and plow prep package, put one on, and kiss most of your warranty byebye...

If you're even medium serious about plowing, a 1/2 ton truck - ANY 1/2 ton truck - just isn't up to the job. I DRIVE and F-150. I PLOW with an F-350. The front end components (not to mention the drive train) just aren't up to the additional load and strain.

One other suggestion, move to a warmer climate.
