Auto Climate Control noise

Hello,

I get a loud groaning/grinding noise from my dash when I switch to the dash vent setting on my auto climate control from any non dash vent setting. Is this normal? Or is this supposed to be a silent operation just like when I change amoungst other settings?

It's dealer time, I suspect. Blend door with loose foam in it? Or maybe something wrong in the hinge?

I have the manual controls, I but I just drove a couple this weekend with the automatic control, and did not hear any strange sounds, even though I tested all the functions.

I can hear the EATC operating the vent doors a little, sometimes, if the radio is off but there are no loud groaning/grinding noises. You must have something sticking inside somewhere.

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess I will add it to my list of things to get fixed when the new cam phaser fix kit finally comes out here in Canada.

update on noisy CC

Took my truck in for an oil change and to get some things fixed today,

Noise when switching vent settings - greased heater box door pivots no more noise now

Speedo is off 4% (fast) - Ford says that they can be within +/- 5% There is going to be an argument at the end of my lease over the additional miles it is putting on. I am not paying for km's I didn't even drive. It will work out to an additional 400 bucks I will owe Ford because they can't calibrate a speedo.

And they are finally able to get the new cam phaser kit. They ordered it and it will be here in 4 days.

I've got manual HVAC...When switching in and out of the defroster mode, it makes a rude sound like my passenger ate too many bean burritos for dinner. It's quite the conversation starter....just glad it's not smell-o-vision...
