oxygen sensor
oxygen sensor
Ok, I searched and found the answer for many F-150's but not 04's I'm installing an air/fuel ratio gauge in the coin slot. Do we have an oxygen sensor already? if not I will need to spend another 97.00 for one from Autometer. I am assuming that we do but not sure.
Thanks for any help

Our trucks have four 02 sensors, 2 upstream and 2 downstream. The PCM uses the feedback from the upstream oxygen sensors to constantly adjust the air fuel ratio to a 14.64:1 A/F ratio in closed loop. Open loop the PCM uses the signal coming in from the MAF meter or MAS to determine how much fuel and timing to put into the engine, based on hand-coded values in lookup tables that are based primarily on load.
Thanks guys
Asinatra, so I can monitor how the truck is running. Do you not recommend an air fuel? I'm adding gauges such as Trans temp, water temp, and the new D pic from Auto meter. I needed a fourth to fill that stupid coin slot. I don't have a computer to tell me what is going on as I have the XL so I will get a check engine light if the air fuel is not right but it also may be something else.

Well heres my opinion with a AF gauge, if your gonna get one, get a good one, LM1, wideband commander, etc... (the whole kit)
I want the AF so i can street tune so i can get good AF's with the diablo, but i also want IAT temp because that will also change the AF ratio depending on how hot the intake manifold is. Another good gauge is EGT so if you know your running to lean while towing or putting the engine under a load the egts will rise.
But if your not going to tune i dont think you need it unless you want to sit there and try and watch for lean conditions all day, because all you will see is a quick spike and then the cpu willl try and compenstate. And you will prob miss it anyway
