Well, I just read the entire thread and didn't see an answer for my question so hear goes. From what I can tell, you guys are installing Silverstars into your fogs. Apparently they are much whiter and brighter. However, it seams like the silverstars are not made in the bulb that our headlights are in so you guys are trying another brand/company. Is that correct? I hate this yellow color in our lights and I hate the blue looking lights even more. I just want white and bright lights so am I out of luck untill the Silverstars come out for our headlights?

X-Star... while the manufac. doesn't recommend it, the 9145 bulb that is in our fogs can be replaced with the 9005 bulb. Oodles of us have done it and, thus far, have NO regrets. (btw, I did this on my 2001 KR as well... no problems for the two years I had them installed).
Unfortunately, we're all still waiting on something that can provide some performance gains over stock in the heads.... some say that the Xtravision bulb from Sylvania is a boost but, a minimal boost. I still may try them out though.... Like you, I hate the yellowish but, even worse, miss my Xenarc system from my 01.

Just installed some 9005's into my fogs. My opinion is that they are whiter but no brighter or darker. Check my gallery for pictures. I know they don't show much but they look a lot whiter in person. Make sure you read my picture descriptions so you know what bulbs are installed when taking the pictures.
Thanks Dracos for the light meter reading. Can you post the foot candle output comparison numbers. Too lazy to find my meter. I put some Silverstar 9005's finally. I'll snap a couple of pix later.
Sorry, did not see the mesage earlier.......will redo the meter this weekend and post my info
BTW, the same company we got these from also sells a complete kit (heads and fogs), this is what I got..http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...976297987&rd=1 ...fogs are kick butt too!!!

Update on the LUKS lights
Well after a few months and many warranty replacements I have changed from the poorly built LUX lights to Nokya
First set, one bulb missing filiments, replaced by vendor, MFG problem
second set, buld misaligned with plug caused poor spread of light, replaced by vendor, MFG problem 2
Set 3, one bulb had very low output on low beam but no light when on high, MFG problem, poor solder connection to bulb
Replaced all LUKS junk with new Nokya 80/100 watters.
No problems in a month and way brighter than the crappy LUKS junk.
Word to the wise......if it says LUKS it is junk

Nokya light bulbs - www.automotivelightingusa.com I ordered the headlights (Arctic white) in stock wattage and the fog lights (Arctic white). $78.00 (shipping included) They also have the fog lights in Hyper Yellow.

Luks suck.......I have had them and can't wait to replace them with silverstars when my new headlights get here. Luks are very dim and aren't worth a crap in the rain. My SS foglights blow them away. Do not get LUKS unless you are 100% concerned about the looks of them and not performance.
