Im too damn confuesed!
ahhh man! get the lift! dont sweat the blackbeauty guy saying he is having problems (if that is prompting this) look at how many people have had theirs and no problems whatsoever! eddyg88 or bigsherm and countless others are probably racking up miles on their lifts and i havn't seen/heard anything bad! dont be scared man! a well built suspension kit really shouldn't cause that many problems in the future... just my 2 bucks tho
good luck either way

ps. the other stuff is nice but it seems like you are just settling for that stuff and spending money just to spend it.... GO BIG!

Honestly, Im just scared of spending all the money on the lift only to spend more money fixing my truck cause of things caused by the lift. I keep going back and forth on what to do but tomorrow Im going to see how much Bubba's Trucks will do the Rancho lift and the wheels, and tires I want for. Im hoping it'll be about $4000 installed that way by the end of the summer for sure, I could get the alarm/remote start, nerf bars, and the Kenwood Exceleron DVD headunit.
do the lift man... i have seen SO MANY posts with you talking about how bad you want one... as long as it is installed properly and you get an alignment i dont think you will have any issues man. ball joint maybe but with a leveling kit and 33s they are gonna wear more too. personally i think the leveling kits we put on our trucks are just as bad as lifting it. anyways not trying to convince you one way or the other just would hate to read a post about how you wished you had bought a lift!
Do the lift. Take a look at the 3" Skyjacker kit. Comes with front springs and shocks (non adjustable). With the 3" in front, do a either a block or add-a-leaf in the rear.
I was debating the same and that seems like a perfect size lift that is reasonably priced. Under $1000.00 for parts...installation depends whether you do it yourself or find a shop that'll do it for cheap.
Im doing the Autospring on Friday and will use that until I do the Skyjacker kit...probably when I need new tires, Ill go with the new lift.
Hope this opens some windows for you...

After thinking long and hard, it all comes down to whether or not a local shop can do it for the price I want but here is what its looking like right now...
- The basic Pro Comp lift
- Pro Comp Skid Plate Package
- Helo Maxx 6 18" Wheels
- 35" BFG M/Ts or Nitto Mud Grapplers or Toyo M/Ts
I know someone found a link to the Pro Comp lift around $1200 can someone post it. I haven't been able to find the skid plate package online either? Im trying to get the cheapest prices so I can make whoever does my lift beat them or match the price.

lol, If I just broke my back the last thing I'd want is a lift on my truck. climbing in and outa these things is a PIA. Besides after a few years youll look at it and say WTF did I do that? you wont get your investment back. At least with the $100 leveling kit your not out much, and you can always take off the wheels/tires to sell or use on your 2009 F150! You said you werent planning on gears either, you will want them soooo bad with the 35's belive me. Its such a slugo with the stock 3:73.
I agree with blackbeauty, its more trouble than its worth. Just my .02

You mentioned earlier on in the post about getting tuner/exhaust/intake... I spent about the same amount of money on wheels/tires, tuner, exhaust and in dash DVD/navi system with new speakers. Only thing left is the intake. Even though you might really want the lift, I think you would get more enjoyment out of making the truck run and sound better with the tuner/exhaust/intake and also enjoy the new in dash system. Your truck looks real good outside, now enjoy the inside and sound it will make going down the road. All about getting the most bang for the buck.
I think I found out that I can have the best of both worlds. I could do the Skyjacker 3" and maybe even had the Rancho 9 way adjustable shocks out back. Kenwood Exceleron DVD headunit, componnents front and rear, alarm/remote start, magnaflow si/do, and lights for my bull bar. I realized I wouldn't be able to park my truck in the parking garage so that throws out the whole 6" lift idea.

Thumper I am in the same boat as you, I want a big lift but dont want to lose functionality, or reliability. I appreciate you doing all this reasearch, it will help me too! I am looking at the Rancho 4" but it is kinda expensive.
No problem, I've been gathering up as much information as possible for the past couple months. Im just going to get the Skyjacker kit because I think its going to be a better ride offroad and give me a little bit more lift than the leveling kit AND probally be more reliable. Plus this leaves me with a ton of cash to spend on other stuff!
We'll see how it all turns out! and I'd like to thank everyone here for helping me out!

i think if you don't go bananas and install a millions inches of lift, you should be OK. installing a 6"susp lift and a 3" body lift, plus 37 or 40 inch tires is definetly going to screw up your rig. i don't think 3-4" with 35" tires is going to make the truck unusable. i'm saving up for the 4" rancho and some 35" procomp all terrains. probrably take me 4 years to do it. no warranty by then.
just my 2 cents.
just my 2 cents.
I wouldn't lift it. I mean yeah, it looks cool, but you don't gain that much more functionality. All you do is open your truck up to potentially more problems, worse gas mileage, and more expensive tires. I think it's nothing but compensation for ummm other things. Every time my wife sees a big lifted truck she makes a joke like, "Look at that peni$ extension." You have a sweet rig. Just dress it up a little.

Im doing this setup as well...did my research and set on it. Cheapest, good quality and cheap install.
just make sure to get a coilover system not the top hat looking extender.
