Sad Sad Day
Sorry to hear about your truck, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
My loaner Explore XLT shifts really funky too, this is the second time I've had it since my truck's been in the shop. It's got a tad over 32k on it now, 1st time I had it, it had 30k on it and was pretty smooth then.
I wonder now if Thumper is going ahead and getting his truck lifted.
At least you're not gonna have to put the shim kit in your truck, so your on your way to sav'n money.
See ya around.

BlkButy don't meen to hijack yer thread so i hope you will fore give me.
Thumper, honestly your truck looks great just the way it is. The only reason I lifted mine was because the reg. cab flareside in yellow and dark grey just didn't look rite to me anymore, it was in dyer need of a makeover. My 2 choices were narrowed down to Skyjacker and Fabtech. I posted a ? about the 2 on FTW and Wandell chimed in backing Fabtech saying something along the lines that Fabtech really put the time in on developing the kit for the Ford. Also in Fabtechs catalog, they received Ford's "Product Excellence" award for superior design and outstanding workmanship for the '04 F150 4WD. SEMA also awarded them "Best New Product of the year". I really like the fact that "Ford" themsevles recognized the Fabtech kit if ya know what I'm gett'n at.
Good luck w/ your decision.
Chris

Blkbuty,
Hate to see you get rid of that very nice looking F150 that you had. The reason why you started to not like it anymore was becuase of "noises" those noises you were hearing where not do to the truck itself, it was due to what u have done with it! It looked nice and all what you did with it, but also, it screws up a lot of crap when it comes to modding a truck like that.
The Jeep you have just in my opinion, is a step down from the F150, but then again, if you want another F150, you seem to have all the money in the world to buy one later in the future.
Like someone else here said, if you mod that Jeep anywhere close to what you have done with your F150 when you had it, it will make noises and clucks and everythign else as well.
It just made me laugh when you said you got rid of it due to clucks and noises from the crap you lifted it with!
Okay, thats off my chest now! lol
Have a good one!

No doubt about it by putting the Suspension Lift on it totally screwed a great SCrew LOL!
It's no ones fault but my own!
BTW I did NOT buy a Jeep - Already owned it!
As for a waste of money????? Nah, you do what you do and then you move on!
I got 30,950 for it and only owed 26,000 so I was very happy with that.
I love my truck and this mornings trip to the Dealership will Suc* but I feel that with the way I love to 4 wheel with my buddies this will give me that opportunity.
I will own another one in 2008!
Actually we almost bought a White SCrew Lariet fully loaded but decided on the Explorer. I had them already check out the additive TSB as I have been researching the Explorer for awhile now. There was one other thing they said they checked as well!

The Explorer is a solid vehicle. Like you, I did a boatload of research on ours before purchasing. Louisville does a pretty good job rolling them out.... and trust me, they roll them out at an alarming rate!!
Best of luck with the new ride bud! Don't be a stranger!
