Sad Sad Day

Well deccided today that I did not want to deal with any future problems that may arise from the 6" Pro Comp Suspension Lift.

Today I started feeling and hearing wayyyyyyy to many clinks and clunks for me to want to deal with. I am starting to think the Pro Comp is as referred to in another post. That will be the last Pro Comp lift I ever purchase.

We decided to trade BlkButy in for an 05 Explorer Limited fully loaded to the tilt for the wife!

I am taking the 2000 Jeep Cherokee and building me a real off roader! I have 2k to spend on it and already have the mods in mind!

I loved my truck but since last week a strange noise started arising like - when I start it in the morning I hear a hissing noise coming from the engine - never been there before. When stopping/starting I hear clink clunk clink clink and it defintely feels totally unstable to me. My childs welfare is far more important than a truck. I now have a Vibe from 50-60 and had the tires re-balanced. I understand that going up 11" is going to change things but I don't want to wait around for things to start breaking.
At 38k miles there is no more warranty!

I contemplated removing the Suspension lift and going back to 35's but money has already been spent and I do NOT want to spend another dime on it.

Sorry to see such a beautiful truck go, but should you ever want another, you know who to call

Oh yeah, you'd have to drive out to California too...

Does your 05 Exploder have the new grille, new emblems? I know they're doing some changes for the 05 late or 06 early...

I will check today! We also just had them install a DVD system.

My wife has wanted one for 2-3 years now so it's her turn!

Got caught cheatin huh? Shes makin' ya trade in your prize winning truck for a Jeep.... tisk tisk tisk....

All jokin aside... it was a great lookin truck.. It was just a matter of time before all that lift caught up with it..

Think about a human... how long do you think you could walk on stilts.... maybe a few steps, but eventually, you'll start too fall.

Good Luck with the Jeep!

When you test drive the Exploder, make sure you pay attention to the tranny, the one we bought shifted funny, we bought a new one and first week had to take it back and get (if i remember correctly) a new shift selenoid installed and there is a TSB for tranny additive as well. When i brought it back, the service advisor told me it was his third that day.

Yep... there was actually a recall on that additive. We had to have it done to our 04' Eddie Bauer Explorer as well...

Overall though, it's been a VERY solid vehicle so far... we've only had it for around 4k miles though...

Unbeleivable , waste all of that money on a truck, and then buy an old jeep :o

Now I completely realize it's your money but you could of bought all kinds of competent off road vehicles (factory made) and had a nice truck both with warranty's..

So to get this straight you buy a new truck screw it all up with a lift complain it doesn't ride right, it makes a few squeaks and clunks, and now your gonna lift a jeep and think that it won't squeak and clunk with a screwed up lift under it !!!!

Good Luck.....
