2005 Brakes Different From 2004?

I just recieved our new Brake Smart electric brake controller for our 2005 SuperCrew FX4. The controller needs to tap into the brake master cylinder. The company furnishes you with an adaptor to do this. Problem is, it doesn't fit my truck. The adaptor threads are 12mm and my truck's master cylinder is 10mm (I think).

There is a person on this list who has installed a Brake Smart controller on his 2004 with out a problem, so I'm assuming that they have changed the 2005 master cylinders for some reason.

The bad news is that Brake Smart doesn't have a source for 10mm adaptors so I looks like I'm going to have to go with the Prodigy controller instead.

Can anyone confirm if Ford has changed brake master cylinders? And why the (*$&^*#*! they chose to go with such an odd size thread. I've checked with Ford, Napa, Shucks, AutoZone, local fastener companies, plumbing supply houses.....nobody has the correct adaptor that's needed.

I know they changed the brake lines coming from the calipers. I would get with your local dealer.

I tried the dealer. They don't have any brass fittings for my truck...only stock parts.

I need a "T" so that I can add a third 3/16" hydralic line to the brake master cylinder.

Thanks!
