Axle angles between Fabtech & Pro Comp
I am pretty sure with a 6" lift I couldnt be sitting any lower, especially that much. Why is the angle so bad on that rancho lift, shouldnt they all be the same, and how are they adjusted?

If you want the halfshafts more level you're gonna lose height *if* you adjust the coilovers.

Thanks for the instructions on the coil overs. Last week I was told over on FTW that I needed to back off on the ring to lower the front end. I was a little confused because I saw a truck there that had the DL's, his truck was sitt'n level and that ring was spun down quite a bit.
Was hope'n I was gonna get the truck back today, well maybe tomorrow.

I think you misunderstood me, what I was trying to say was, here we go and lift our trucks to get'm higher and now I'm getting ready to lower it alittle, but it will be a good thing cause my half shafts won't be on the angle they're at now.

Hey Thumper...looks like you and I are shopping around for the right lift and cant seem to find one...
I say we wait until one of these guys break down so we know what not to get...
!!! JUST KIDDING...yeah, this stuff is pretty confusing, which is why I resorted to a leveling kit, new shocks and larger tires for now. When I lifted my Tundra, it was great...but spent more money than I thought I would to complete the whole project! Of course, I went an expensive route with FabTech/Fox combo...but still...I know the how it is!!!
Trucks look nice fellas (or should I say, ladies and gentleman)...

Hey Sal. Long story and a lot of headaches. I finally picked my truck up after 2 weeks last Wednesday. Ford replaced my rear drive shaft and they sent it out for the pinion shims. When I went to pick the truck up, ford said that they were ordering me a new ring and pinion TSB*******?(shudder was actually worse than when i dropped it off, but I think that was due to the truck just sitting, though it has gotten a little better) parts just came in today, so it's going back next Tuesday to Ford. Still, all under warranty. To tell you the truth, my dealership has taken excellent care of me, even w/ the lift
Today I read a post here about the popping sound that I've been hearing from my front end. Well, I think that I found the culprit. With the new steering knuckles/spindles (not sure if correct terminology) and the position of the lower control arms, I found wear/gouges on the front side of the lwr. control arms on each side from making the tight turns. I'm hoping that I can just take a die grinder/sanding disc and blend out the effected areas a little deeper, should give it some clearence and keep it from binding.
Still haven't lowered the front yet since I will need another allignment afterwards( I only trust Ford for this), I suppose that would help the binding/rubbing issue that I have at the moment on tight turns since the control arms would be closer to a stock position/closer to being level.
Thanks for check'n up.
Chris

Dang...
Well, at least once you get your truck back you will appreciate it that much more! I notice some poppin sounds also when i turn the wheel all the way to either side. I can't figure out what it is except maybe that one of the hubs is locked and then unlocked when I turn it, hell I dont know! It drives me nuts so i dont turn all the way unless I have to! I think it has something to do with the bad angle of the halfshaft. I am thinking about taking off the Daystar spacers and just doing a 3" body lift. We'll see...
Sal, check your lower front A-arms (control arms), I bet you'll find a spot where there are signs of where the spindle are turning into them causing a vertical gouge, also look several inches to the inner side, going towards the center of the truck and you might see where the tire is rubbing on the a-arm aslo. I just noticed the black on my a-arms this morning after taking a closer look. That's what's wht's causing the vibration and clunk sounds.
I guess since the a-arms sit lower now, it is bringing the tire closer in and on tight turns, the knuckle digs in deep enough into the a-arm and then the tire begins to rub.
All start'n to make sence now, gives me a little peace of mind knowing that my front end is not falling apart.
