New Autospring

Well. after doing searches and more searches I have decided to order the 2" autospring. The threads I have found state that if concerned with rear sag, to buy bags. My rear doesnt drop much at all when the pop-up is behind it. (less than an inch). This will be no problem correct? Is it just asthetics or is there a saftey factor? That is the only question I could not find the answer to. I dont care if the thing sags a little. i dont tow that much. thanks for your replies......

It's just about the looks. No safety factor involved.

I'm getting ready to do the AutoSpring lift as well. I've got a Mechanic lined up that will install them and re-align the front end. I called today to order the kit but they must be closed. Guess I'll have to wait until Monday.

I decided to go with the 1.5" lift. I did some playing around in the driveway with the jack under the front end and I think a 2" lift will be Perfect!

How much are these kits anyway?? The mechanic said he'd install and align it for around 100 bucks. I can't wait!

Wait.... hold the phone. I thought that a 2" lift measures out at 1" 5/8. therefore, giving me a 2 inch lift. A two incher will level it right? If not please say something as I need to change the order.

This might help...its a reponse I got directly from Autospring Corp:

"No!! The 2" kit measures 1-5/8" thick. The 2-1/2" kit is 1-3/4" thick and the 1-1/2" kit is 1-1/2" thick. It can be confusing but its not cut and dry. Due to the angles of the control arms the the more you lift the front the more drastic the increase in lift ie. the 1-1/2" kit raises the front between 1-1/2-2", the 2" kit raises MOST F-150,s 2-1/4"- 2-3/4" and the 2-1/2" kit raises the truck between 2-1/2" -3-1/4". Different models of F-150 also are lower in the front than others. The Super Crew is lower in the front than the standard cab due to more weight! The 1-1/2" or 2" kit is the best option if you are planning on loading alot or pulling a trailer with your F-150. The 2-1/2" kit raises the front dead level with the rear and you get a butt dragger look if you pull a trailer or load the bed with any significant weight. Are you confused!! Sorry but each F-150 is a little different!! I have personally installed a 2" kit on the same version of F-150 from our local dealer on the same day and ended up with different final heights by 1/2". Some are lower than others PERIOD.Thats why you get conflicting heights on the F-150 Forum. "

I went with the 1.5" kit.

I wont be loading heavy and my trailer tounge weight is a scant 189 lbs. I should be fine with the 2" Which should be level or dang close. Thanks for all your help.

And yes....your last post is a little confusing.

I went with the 1.5. Some people had problems with the 2 and a lot of people had problems with the 2.5. I thought I would be safe with the 1.5

Kanter,
what kind fo problems have people had with the 2.5 kits? I have a 2.5 (my truck has a 3 inch difference) and am getting ready to install it. I have not heard about these problems, so I am curious what is being said before I go ahead with this install. Thanks
