Hey Thumper, I bought the same kit . I ended up saving a little over $300 bucks buying the Dirt Logics w/ the Fabtech lift at the same time. Definately the way to go. One day I will be replacing the rear blocks because they do stink.

On another note, make sure that you get your pinion angle changed as well.

If I had my truck now, I'd drive down to DeLand so ya could take it out and drive it to see what ya think. It's in Daytona getting the pinion angle corrected and not sure when I'm getting it back.

If I went with the Fabtech kit without the Dirt Logic Coilovers, do I need to buy shocks? or is it a complete kit? Also are skid plates available for the Fabtech lift?

Heres how my truck is going to used basically 80% onroad and about 20% offroad. I wish I could have the best of both worlds but I know this would never happen. I would really like to either use Fabtech or maybe even Rancho. Depending on how the truck is going to ride onroad and offroad.

StAugTonka: What color is your truck, does it happen to be DSG? If so I've seen you driving on 92 a few times.

Thumper, the fabtech kits comes complete w/ 4 shocks but from what i hear, they are crap. If ya get the Dirt logics, you just won't get the 2 front shocks. The fabtech kit also comes w/ a 1/4" thick steel skid plate but it only covers the front differential, does not look like the Rancho or Skyjacker.

BTW my Tonka is Blaz'n Yellow, check out my gallery under "StAugTonka", I tried posting a link to it a couple of days ago but I still can't get it to work.

Though you may have seen it in DeLand also maybe before I did the lift, I've got "Tonka" on the tailgate.

That depends. As far as the general ride, I have no complaints especially w/ the 35's on it. Just play w/ your tire pressure. Super smooth on the highway I might add. My truck has that POS vibe issue from 50-60mph, so I just try to avoid that range. With my truck being mainly a pavement pounder, maybe the Dirt Logics are overkill, but to me they were worth it if I could cut down on added wear from bad road conditions and one of the dirt roads I drive on once a week, real bad, like a wash board. Now it doesn't feel like the truck is falling apart. No razz'n plz.

If ya need an allignment guy, I highly recogmend Steve Clower at Gary Yoemans Ford, he did an excellent job on mine after the lift, and that was after goodyear up here really screwed it up.

Eddy,

I have the add-a-leaf, and I got it from 4wheelparts for like 87 bucks. Definately worth the money, and I want to see some pics of that skid plate!

I bought the lift from the shop that installed it for me. I think i paid like $2300 for the lift alone. I was gonna order it from one of the 4X4 adds in one of the mags, but with shipping costs, it was gonna cost me around $2500 total, screw that.

Tires, I bought locally. $888 OTD, included mounting and balancing. Tires are BFG AT/KO's 315-70-17's.

Wheels, well I got the shaft on that one. The Eagle warehouse in Jax sent me (3) 186's w/ 5"BS and one w/ 3 5/8"BS. Kinda funny, there were only 3 of the ones w/ 5"BS in stock, no other 5"BS in stock anywhere in this country, so it appears they tried to pawn them off on me, I figured that they thought I would never notice it. BTW, they no longer offer a 5"BS in that particular wheel. Do youself a favor, if ya like that style wheel, take a look at the Pro Comps ones. They from what I hear polish the inside of the holes and debur them. Mine have already cut me several times cleaning them.

If ya want to take a look at my truck, I just found out that it is gonna be at back at Gary Yoemans over the weekend. The shop doing the pinion allignment is backed up til like monday so they brought the truck back to Ford today. Just excuse the truck in its current condition, got a little road dirt on it.

Sorry if you took offense but I have seen too many problems with Pro-comp (i.e. tied rod rubbing against coil spring for no reason). I believe in "you get what you pay for." I feel that Fabtech and Rancho have more R&D in the design( high clearance subframe and cam bolt slots). But it seems like Thumper has already made up his mind so who cares.

Hey man, dont worry no offense taken. I am just saying that if you look at the parts (BOM) and material selections, etc. The procomp and fabtech lift is essentially identical except for the different front cross member. I do believe fabtech did a better design of the front member but they both do the same thing. As far as geometry of the lift goes, they are identical. To each his own, just trying to provide a decent opinion rather than say Procomp rules and all the rest suck.

Eddy, those skid plates look awesome! How much did they cost you? If you don't mind me asking. I think they match your truck perfectly.

I think Im still going with the Fabtech like I decided before but whats everyones opinion on this Pro Comp Lift Kit? What are the main differences between this lift and the Fabtech lift with the Dirt Logics?

I don't care to much for the boot covering the Tie-Rod rubbing on the coilover but that's the way it goes.

Pro Comp never returned any emails or phone calls so I took their Stickers off my truck.

I am stuck with their lift but I had it checked out from an Off-Road Guru and he said everything looked fine underneath.

Someone posted above about the pinion angle? I had mine checked and was told my angle looked fine. I have a 3" Body Lift and 6" Suspension Lift and they said it was in specs. I feel I need to still add the 6% Shim kit or whatever to be safe.

Any thoughts?
