actually the Factory Tech modification for the new 2004-2005 tranny requires no drilling at all to the valve body. You can take it back to stock anytime you want to. It is the replacement of the C-Plate on the valve body and some replacement accumulator springs.

The best part is it is only $85.00 vs. the original complete VB replacement for $200.

So i'm taking it out, do a few little tricks of the trade, take a pair of pliars to the TC, maybe add a few clutches and see what happens. I would like to be able to chirp every gear, no matter what throttle pressure Not sure how this tranny will react though.
Sounds like your diablo tune may not be sending enough pressure to shift thus creating lag, heck my stock 97 trans with no chip or jmod would shift quicker than that. Have you tried an SCT chip or doing the Factory tech mod to help it out? Or did u burn the clutches out? This would be a good ? to ask dirtyd0g, hes a torque converter/ transmission expert.

Oh it will chirp 1-2 and 2-3 on street tires untill the tranny gets "hot" then thats when the slipping starts occouring. I have dropped over 2 seconds in 1/4 time on this heavy truck and as hard as I run it, it was just a matter of time for the tranny starting going "get the f' out of here".

I have my own transmission expert thats going to build up mine. If he can make a trans braked 4l60E last behind a 800rwhp camaro(only person known to be able to claim that), im sure he can help me on my transmission.

True, did your truck come with a trans cooler from the factory? If not, thats what im gonna say, is that your trans is getting too hot causing it to slip. Id put on the biggest Hayden plate style, or B&M plate style cooler you can.

The FTVB you're describing sounds exactly like the one I am having installed in my '02 today. But I'm also installing a Factory Tech torque converter so I may not be able to tell which improvements are from which modification. I'll let you know how it runs tomorrow after I pick it up.

even if it did, im gonna bet its a fin and tube type cooler and not a plate style. Plate style coolers are much more efficient than fin and tube types. Best way to tell is go look and see what type it is. Might wanna invest in a nice big plate style cooler, or even an active one. And that FTVB, is that basically just a Jmodded plate he's selling or what?
