Intermittent Vibration
Intermittent Vibration
I've read alot here about the vibration issue, but has anyone had it intermittently? I will be driving and all of a sudden its starts vibrating like I'm driving on a corrugated road. If I pull over and shut the truck off and start it back up and continue driving it will go away!
WTF?
Anyone had this?
P.S. I have an '04 FX4 with 20,000 on it.

I've got it going on more and more now. I just posted something on the transmission page. I've got a 5k mile 04 super cab 4x4. I'll let you know if I find anything out. Other posts said it might be the torque converter.
BTW: I found that if I stop and put the trans in neutral then back into drive it'll stop for a while.

Hmmm I'll try resetting the parking brake tonight. I guess I'd be suprised if it were the case though. At 30mph it feels like the rear end is bouncing off the pavement. Rumble strips are the best description.
See if there's any bluing or tinting of your rear rotors, possibly indicating that they may have been running a bit hotter than normal, i.e. the parking brake shoes are dragging.
Thanks for the suggestion. The parking brake was the problem!
The rear rotors were warped due to the brake dragging....dealer is replacing them as I type.
Maybe this also explains my gas mileage?
Still the best truck out there!
