It will pull it fine. Better if you had a diesel, but it will pull it fine. As long as the trailor cant hit the cab becaues of the 6.5' bed.

If "Ford" told you 10K was find to tow with your truck, you'd better get that in writing! A single man can pull a boxcar down the tracks with the tow rope/chain in his teeth; however, it doesn't mean it should be done.
Best of luck to you though. I hope you are able to stay out of the service department.

You all shoulda seen the looks I got comming down the highway though. a 1/2 ton 4x4 with a 35 ft fifth wheel behind it, people would just about get out of their lanes to stare, they'd look at the truck then at the camper, then back at the truck it was kind of funny..... OOh and I'll tell you what it would have made a great T.V. commercial for Ford too.
I Live in Elizabethton TN and know all about hills and mountains, 8 months ago I purchased a 2001 Jayco Eagle 277 fifth wheel with slide , I work construction as a plumber in Knoxville so I pulled it down there with my father&laws F250 Powerstroke and done great but you know it is back there, well job is done so I use his truck to pull it home, Since then I got a great deal at Friendship Ford in Bristol TN on a 2005 F150 xcab Black Beauty XLT 5.4l short bed/w extra cab, I have not had a hitch installed yet and after seeing you had your slider in the middle position do you think a standard fifth wheel hitch would work with the Jayco Eagle 28' model 277 , If so That would save me a lot of money VS. the slider, Thank You for your time and this bone stock except for dual catback is bad to the bone!!!!!Speed is not everthing!!!!!!!!!!I can send you pics of truck and my Jayco Eagle if you want to see them. Thanks for your time Johnny&Judy from Elizabethton TN

WELL ITS A BLACK BEAUTY XLT AND I LOVE MY TRUCK AND SHOULD PULL MY EAGLE JUST FINE , I WILL POST PIC'S SOON, HAVE A GREAT DAY , JOHNNY FROM ELIZABETHTON TN
THe thing that I would be worried abou tit the tires you have, and the rear suspension. I would beef up the suspension, and maybe get some "E" rated tires to handle the extra weight, thast a lot of weight put on the back. A fifth wheel trailer tows way better than a standard travel trailer. I know a guy who went from an 18' travel trailer to a 25' fifth wheel and the fifth wheel actually pulls easier, eventhough it weight 2000 pounds more. And he just has a 99 F250 with the 5.4 and 5 speed manual. Your truck will pull it power wise, just that the suspension will sway all over the place. My truck sways with my 24' trailer and I have air bags.
