I paid $32ish (w/ tax) as a brand new, damn.. thats BIG drop $$ and is not great resale! man thats sucks!
Any feedback?

Hate to break the news to you, but he could have drove it around the block and put only 9 miles on it and only gotten 22K for it.
Tax doesn't count, and he should have paid 30K or less for his. 8k loss after 9,000 miles isn't that bad... who knows what else happened to it.

ummmm, YUP! Exactly why I refuse to buy a brand new truck. I bought a 3 year old Lariat in pristine condition with more options than I could imagine and paid half what a new one would have cost. Buying a brand new vehicle is usually a losing proposition. I really LIKE driving a Lariat for $400 per month.
And this is news to you? Thats the price we pay for being the first owner and knowing the complete history of the vehicle.
Oh well, its still worth it to me. there is nothing like driving it off the lot with no miles and not having someone elses stink in it

thats suck...
IF the gas keep jack up the price (as of right now, my home area 2.39 reg unleaded).. i might need to sell my truck
and get me a darn escape Hybird...
I figured if i decied to sell, i lost about 5-9K worth of $$ - not good...
Guess i didnt do my homework

Do it now then. Figure how many decades it will take to 'make a profit' on the hybrid at gas at 3.00 a gallon. Hint, it's more than my life expectancy.

There's only one way to minimize your loss.
I bought a new truck in 1985 for $6,200.
I sold it in 1999 for $2,200.
Total depreciation - $4,000
or $285 per year
or $23 per month

The resale value is the product of discounts and rebates given to the leftover 04s. I bought a new leftover 04 because I could buy it cheaper than a late model used one. My loaded XLT 4X4 standard cab listed for over $31K and I paid $22,549. Trade in has to be considerably less than the cost new.
