Reverse sensing question...

And yes I searched (flame suit on)! I've noticed that on my '05 the stereo volume does not lower automatically when the beeper activates. Both of the '04's I had would lower it when backing and the warning went off. Anyone else notice this? Can't imagine why the change.

It might have something todo with the new aerodynamics of your truck.
Seriously though is there any info in the owners manual about it. It should be there.

Mine doesn't lower either. I can sure as heck hear that beeper though That R/S is a must have on these trucks. Saved me a number of times from backing over those little ricers.

I remember a post a while back, when some lowered and some did not.

Mine does lower the radio, but its the 04.

Reverse sensing

I to have a 04 with reverse sensing and my radio volume does not mute. I did some research and found that there is a wire that runs from the reverse sensing module to the radio to mute it that was deleated in trucks built after 11/30/04. I saw this on the wiring schematics for the 04 F150. I am sure this was a cost savings

Well thats wierd DA. Any idea on the build date of your truck? I figured it was a cost cutting thing...probably saved $1.00 a truck! ~sigh oh well~

Mine was built in 07/04 and doesn't do it. Maybe it has to do with a combination of the manufaturing plant and the date. Mine was KC.

I would like to have it. Wonder how tough it is to add it.

Mine was built 08/04 in KC and the radio mutes with the sensor. Maybe it depends on which radio the truck has. Mine is the 6-disc.
