unless your monitoring it because you think your truck is messed up, right on. anything eles imo is just another way to get stressed out about something in the past thats uncontrollable.

So reading some of the posts do you reset your mpg reading everytime you fill up?

Well i dont know about you guys but when i get a chance to drive my dads 04 im always monitering the miles per gallon deal. I think watching it actually makes me drive less hard on a vehicle because i am always trying to get good gas mileage and see how high i can get it for a trip. Then some times it works the other way to see how low i can get it to go

Geez guys lets all kiss and make up. I would drive my truck ( and still love it) if it got 8 mpg. I was merely commenting on how accurate the mileage computer was, not trying to instigate a member bashing thread! We all love our trucks (common ground yada yada yada).

Sorry about that but some individuals just like to hit and run with flippant remarks. Nothing value added just a disregard for what others have to say.

Whether it's done by design or accident, it just aggrevates the he!! out of me.

I love the lines on your truck -- that's got to be one of the nicest looking Lariat's I've ever seen!

AMEN,
funniest thing when people buy a different truck based on fuel economy. who gives a flying flip... did you expect it to get 20 miles to the gallon??? thats what I tell people.

I kinda think of the MPG calculator as a game in itself...on a neutral coast down, I think I've got it to read like 56 mpg before.

My figures are usually within 1-2 mpg of what the info center says though.

Yep. I've manually checked mine on more than one tank of fuel and came out within a tenth as well.

While I agree with your 'who cares about the mileage' statement based on the sole fact that we're all driving a V8 based truck, I draw huge exception to you posting it within this thread.

Simply put, this thread was started to very simply state that his computer was doing a hell of a job at calculating his MPG. Nothing more, nothing less.

He, nor anyone else, has made a derogatory statement about the poor or great gas mileage that he or she is experiencing. If ANY of us were looking to obtain 40 mpg, we would've bought a Prius.

It bugs the crap out of me too canyon. Rather than reading what people have to say, they fly off the handle on some errant rampage about how this and that are all wrong. While I've misread posts in the past and I'm sure I'll do it in the future, the hit and run techniques that two or three folks in this thread use (one continuously) bug the living hell out of me.

They jump in, rattle a cage, derail the conversation, and run away. The joy of internet message boards... there's always going to be a minority that disrupt.

And before someone flys off their axle on me, I've made no direct reference to ANYONE here... just making a blanket statement. If you want to find the two or three folks that I'm mentioning in this thread, that's your call on your time.
