Love your truck . . .

Thanks for the comments on the good job I did on the mirror guys Well - in 20 years of driving I have never hit the garage door and I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later...

I am searching through classifieds and will be making a couple of calls and get me a cheaper replacement.
I have one just like it.

When I first got the truck, I had a hell of a time getting it into the carport and always pulled in the mirrors. As time went on, I got better at parking it, but now I am probably risking crunching the side when I try to park it far enough over to walk by.

Since I need a new driveway anyway, I am going to make a pulloff for the truck and let my wife have the carport back.

By the way, I recently got my worst gas mileage (9mpg), and later got my best at 16 mpg. I waited 57 years to get a truck, and now gas prices have to go through the roof. Go figure.

I really enjoy this forum and find it very helpful.

Also broke mine on my 05 XLT, thought I'd be out big bucks but the factory repair manual that I have said that there is a seperate part number, so I gave the parts dept the number and they had it! Only cost $30. The part number for the motor is 17d696. Looks exactly like mine. Takes 3 minutes to replace! Any questions e mail me at mkinttrim@aol.com
