Thumbs up It Has Arrived

My 16612 arrived today and it looks like I'll be doing it myself. Haven't opened the box to check on fasteners....With 700 miles on the rig, I hope the stock exhaust isn't too hard to break loose yet. Stocked up on WD40. Rock, did you have access to an air ratchet for the bolt tightening ceremony or did you go with sockets? I've got a compressor, but no air tools at this juncture. Worth the investment? I don't pull the wheels or anything unless it's an emergency. We don't have the rust issues here in the high desert that you guys must be dealing with in KY....
Thanks!

raalden...the 16612 install should go easy, especially since y'all don't have any dual rear exit pipes to hang and position. My XLT was 18 months old with 14,000 miles on it when I installed the 15834, but there were no frozen joints on the OEM. All the joints were corrosion-free and broke with no effort...it helps that the OEM is stainless steel and rust free.

BTW, a socket wrench works fine...this isn't rocket science.

Thanx Curmugeon, that's what I figgerd. Can't wait to get home and bust open the box. Going to be in your neck of the woods in a coupla weeks. Got a friend who's graduating college up in Vancouver. Then we'll be headed for the coast this fall and pulling the trailer right by your hood. Getting off 84 to the 205 then onto the 5 and cutting over to Newberg/McMinnville (gotta check up on the Spruce Goose) and heading out to Lincoln City (Gleneden Beach) for a week in September. Found an RV park right on the water (Sea and Sand RV Park). Should really give the rig a workout.
Thanks!

Got it outta the box! Looks nice! For some reason I thought it was going to bolt directly onto the y-pipe but judging from the hangers it looks as though it is going to bolt on to the straight extension pipe coming off of the y-pipe. Is this what you guys found on the 2005's? I couldn't tell from Rock Pick's pix (ifawoodchuckcouldchuckwood) where his opens up at. Would it be beneficial to replace the 2.5" straight pipe out of the y-pipe with a 3" pipe or will the magnaflow benefits be realized just as well farther back?

And the fasteners are........U-bolts! Heading for NAPA to get some shiny stainless band clamps!

Thanks for any thoughts here!
