I'm pretty sure that I've read that some guys are using 24" wipers without any problems. Not trying to be a wise-*** or anything, but if you search this forum you can probably find out the exact sizes they're running. I plan on doing the same as soon as these wear out.

This thread addresses both the re-indexing issue and the blade length...Kevin

I'm not sure 24" would work... I have 22" Silblades on my KR and they take up just about all of both sides on each swipe.

Actually...I have 22" as well..just checked again. I dont see how he 24" would fit on the passenger side, but the driver side I see it working. Got pics of the 24"s on the truck...Id like to see the fit.

I went out and took a look at mine, and I have about 2-1/4 inch space on between the edge of the wiper and the glass on the passenger side. So wouldn't the 24" work? 2" more on each side. I'll go right now and re-measure the whole window, because with all of the pollen and it rained today, I have a nice "pattern" to go by .

EDIT: I just checked, I have 2-1/4 at the closest point on the passenger side (right side of window in park position), and 3-3/4 at the closest point on the driver's side (top of window at vertical position) So 24"s it is!

I pulled the invoice for my silblades last night as it looks like I'm going to pursue a warranty replacement.

Almost 2.5 years to the day.

I'm looking at warranty because of two factors...

1. Cosmetic - There is a rock chip on both wiper body assemblies. While I know this isn't a warranty issue, it's one of my driving factors in seeing if they'll take care of them.

2. The warranty replacement will, hopefully, come because both blades are dragging water now rather than removing it. This occurs for the first and second wipes in a big time way and then reduces after those passes. Beyond there, I have three or four lines on both wipers that 'streak' across the windshield.

Neither are the end of the world but, with a 5 year warranty, I think I'm going to take advantage of them because they're not performing like they did on day one...

That being said, I'll never own another set of 'regular rubber' wipers again. Silblades are the ONLY way to go!

Keep us posted on your warranty efforts...the outcome may influence whether I purchase the product or not.

I suspect most vendors don't expect purchasers to pursue 'minor' warranty claims...when was the last time anybody made a claim for a new garden hose warranted for 7-10 years?

Thanx for your endorsement.

I shall.

I just phoned them and the lady that I had spoken with yesterday didn't answer and thus, I got her voice mail. The ball is in their court (pending they call back).

I should also mention that I'm probably pretty tough on wipers. This past winter was nothing short of hellish honestly and the continual up and down the interstate driving that I do can't be easy on them. A continual grime layer was everpresent on my windshield and thus, I'd guess that would wear them more rapidly.

I honestly don't have anything bad, at all, to say about them. I wish they'd lasted a bit longer but, two full years out of a set of wiper blades isn't too shabby. We'll see how this warranty process works...

I'll keep you guys in the loop.

I replaced my stockers a little while back with a set of 22” TRIPLEDGE Premium Silicone wiper blades. They were $6.88 each at Wal-Mart. They have a lifetime replacement warranty that includes the cost of shipping. You just have to send in the warranty registration card. www.tripledge.com

I'm in need of new wipers. Maybe I'll go to WAL-MART and check those TRIPLE-EDGE wipers out. Sounds like a good deal with a life-time warranty.

New set being shipped out today... the warranty process was painless. I just had to fax my invoice from where I had purchased them (with the date) to them and that was it...
