Lariat Wheels

I'm in the process of getting new wheels (OEM) thru a warranty issue. Since my truck is an '04, how can I be sure I get the original silver and not the tan/silver of the current '05's (I don't like the looks of those wheels). They are still selling the original version, correct?

Also since the issue I have involves wheel weights corroding/oxidizing the clearcloat, I'm not too keen on putting more ugly weights on new rims... Have any of you been able to balance the 18 inch tires using weight on the inside only? Or anyone just using adhesive wgts on the inside, do they stay stuck all year, winter, etc...

Thanks

I put stick on weights on the inside of my wheels on my last truck. I've heard to use shipping tape on top of the weight, my guess is to keep water, dirt, etc. from getting to the adhesive on the weight itself. They were still like that when I sold it.I put 20k miles on them like that.

I bought my Lariat rims used and all the weights are in the back.

Works for me.

Ford would have 04 parts for collision issues.

They would definitely have non-tan rims in a warehouse for just such an occasion. Just like they would still have original looking wheels for 97-03 models involved in a collision.
