Mods complete...w/pictures and reviews

Last night, I finished what will probably be my final mod this year. Since September I have added the Line-X bedliner, Undercover Tonneau, Magnaflow SI/DO (15834), CarriageWorks billet replacement grill, and Force sidebars. Saving money now for next year.

Line-X was easiest install since somebody else did it. Love it.

I love the Undercover and I am amazed by how easy it is to take it on and off. Although it is best if you can find somebody to help you, it is entirely possible to put on/remove alone as that is how I first installed it. It works great. One of my top mods for sheer usefulness.

Force sidebars were probably next easiest to put on other than all the dirt in my eyes from removing my black plastic running boards. The guys at Force are great too. I don't know how the sidebars compare between say them and Westin but there was a screw up at the retailers warehouse so I called Force directly and they took great care of us. Highly recommend them from a customer service perspective.

The CarriageWorks grille was kind of a pain to put on, but in all fairness to CW the instructions weren't in the box and neither was most of the hardware. Not their fault as it was the supplier robbing peter to pay paul of course. We jimmy-rigged the grille on since it was a weekend and then I called CW the following Monday. They shipped everything right out. Another recommendation from customer service perspective.

The Magnaflow was a bear due to the fact that their brackets and instructions don't accomodate for a hitch or spare tire being in the way. We broke out the welder and got it on but it took us 4-5 hours. I called Magnaflow to give them the feedback that they should rewrite the instructions to accomodate for both and they said that they can't test every truck/hitch combo. I said I have the OEM hitch and they replied that "yeah, we didn't get one of those to test on either". How many of these trucks are going out without the OEM hitch? I didn't think many were. Sounds awesome though. I do love it.

I'm very happy with all the mods, but of course some of them were after hearing about them here, specifically the Magnaflow and the CW. This site is great for getting info you can trust (most of the time ) As you can see from the pics below, I have gone with a chrome on black look. I know some, especially some of the FX4 guys, hate chrome but I like the combo.

I have the same CW grille and just used the stock Ford emblem on it from the old grille. I just used a couple long screws and washers and it went right on.

Thanks!

I took the Ford emblem off the old grill, got some oversized washers and some plastic threaded posts (lowes or home depot should have them) placed the emblem on with the posts through the grill and the washers and then screwed the threaded posts on from the other side (they have slots for straight edge screwdrivers on the end). Worked really well and is on there nice and tight. Let me know and I will take pics if you need them.

That grill looks really sharp against the black of the truck.

Where did you end up buying the Magnaflow from?

The truck looks great but just a suggestion lose those horrible looking ambur turn signals. It only costs about $10 and about 2 minutes to do and it makes a big difference in my opinion!

Nice truck. You need to do 2 more very cheap mods.
1 - Remove the cheap 4 x 4 sticker of the sides of your truck.
2 - Buy the black overlays for your ford emblems of ebay and it will make it look much nicer.

You can find it on Ebay or do a google search for Good Hoods.
It works with the air raid to give me a functional ram air.
As well f150 store has them.
Hope that helps you out.

Nice job, truck looks great.

Definately get the black emblem overlays.. (eBay $15. shipped)
Consider the Autoshade Ventvisers (pickupgear.com $60. shipped)

Thanks much for the post,

-Ron

Chrome or silver overlays would, IMO, look better than black, adding to the chrome.
