TSB on Brake Rotors

Four months ago, Ford replaced the front rotors and pads on my truck with 'upgraded' ones...

Today, they replaced the front rotors and pads with 'new upgraded' ones...

Are they BSing me? Have they really had the rotors and pads redesigned twice or is that their way of getting rid of me for another fours months? Anyone knowledgeable on this one?

My front rotors and pads have been Pieces of *****.! They have warped twice and have been making a ton of noise.

Please Help!

Parts are often updated several times, lots of times before the associated bulletins are updated. If you've got the part numbers of the rotors they used, I can do some checking.

In November 2004 the part numbers were:

Rotors: FMC-5L3Z-1125-AA
Pads: FMC-4L3Z-2001-AC

Now the part numbers are:

Rotors: FMC-5L3Z-1125-AA
Pads: FMC-4L3Z-2001-AD

Thanks, I appreciate you taking the time to check.

Is my local dealer required to replace the rotors if there is a TSB? Mine are heavily grooved and produce a lot of dust, but are otherwise fine.

Yeah, my truck has 6,400 miles on it and the brakes are already grooved pretty bad. I take it in (on 04-07-05) and they say this is normal wear and their are no TSB's for it WTF?

They aren't required per se, but I don't see why they wouldn't if it'd fix your truck. Officially, if you don't have a brake pulsation, they can't fix what isn't broke, but that's all relative on your dealer.

Hey guys, Ive about give up on Ford and their rotors. They have replaced mine a couple time along with the pads and still they are crap. Im getting bad vibration when coming to a stop that keeps getting worse, they squeel like hell when coming to a stop, its almost embarrassing to have stop from the noise they make. I was thinking of just going to a brake shop and getting new rotors and pads from them. What kind of rotors/pads would you guys reccomend, and do you think that would solve my problem or would they to start acting up after 1000 miles or so too? Im just curious if its just the rotors that Ford is using or do I have another problem thats causing all these rotor issues? The dealer has been no help in solving it, although they do keep replacing or turning the rotors each time I complain, it just gets old taking my truck in each time and having to leave it with them til they finish.

honestly, if youve given up on ford, i would either get an upgrade (if you have bigger wheels) or go for the slotter rotors and try some pads that work with our truck that are low dust, im so consumed with work, i dont even think im gonna give ford a chance, probably gonna end up buyin the rotors an pads an doin it myself, i work everyday, and cant afford to be without my truck, so i gotta do it on my dayoff (sunday) .... now to find pads that are decent and a place to buy the rotors
