Sorry to get in here owning a 5.4L '98 ( exhaust system similar to the new ones) but just to let you know that I installed two Magnaflow Hi-Flow cats with a SI/DO Magnaflow muffler and sounds deep and strong.

However, I got the check engine light. I think the shop screw with the sensors or at least one of the upstream died in the process. Even though it's the upstream sensor in bank 1 I will be changing both upstream sensors because of the high mileage (111K miles).

I will let you know if I take pictures.

 

These Magnaflow high-flow catalytic converters will increase flow rate dramatically, while still properly cleaning the exhaust *and* satisfying the downstream O2 sensor on 1996 & newer vehicles so that no check engine lights (SES, etc.) are illuminated. This means you don't need to run MIL eliminators and are completely legal.

 

Now if someone would just make a kit with them pre-welded on. It's a royal pain to find someone around me to install them. But the kit I could do in the driveway.

Looks like they have a cat forward kit. Seems to be the answer, but not for over $600

 

what is a 12392, I can't find it anywhere? So is the super 40 loud enough? I don't want real loud like annoying loud, but definitely a couple of notches louder than magnaflow.

 

mine's pretty loud. I haven't heard the magnaflow to compare it. I know that my truck (5.4L) is no where near as loud as my 03 mustang (4.6L). If that helps you.

You probably need to hear the two side by side.
