v-10 150

theres a few of theses trucks wrecked in the knoxville tennessee area so i got to thinking do you think a v-10 from a sd would fit in the engine bay. and if so would that not be cool. you could put a leveling kit up front and have the ultimate sleeper. put headers and a tuner on the v-10. any one have an idea if this could be done? just a thought. Yes I know its a lot taller and would need a BIG cowl hood.

If it's possible to put a V8 in a ranger, I don't see why you couldn't get a V10 into a F150. Go for it. Add a turbo, headers, maybe some nitrous.

a v10 would look awesome, crazy performance, and im sure i would probably get lots of speeding tickets, imagine a supercharger on it.....seems like someone would have thought of this already. Like putting a powerstroke diesel in a onefifty????

First thing would be to measure the size of your engine bay and transmission area since you would want to switch the tranny in to. Next you would probably have to pull the computer and all the wiring. Finally, you would have to beef up the front suspension to handle the extra weight. I've seen big blocks crammed into jeeps that required a lot of modification, but you could do it.

Anyone who can afford to put a V10 in the F150 can also afford the fuel to run it.

If they are that serious about putting it in, I don't think they care at all!

With all of the $$$$$$$ you're going to put in the truck fabbing the hardware etc. etc etc.....why don't you just go down to your local Ford dealer and trade your F150 in on a V10 Superduty?

I think the whole point is to have a V10 in a F150, not a superduty.

Actually, the V-10 is a 5.4 with an extra 2 cylinders. So, height would be the same, it's the extra length that you would have to deal with.

Go for it! That would be super sweet! I've never heard of it being done before. Supercharged, that would be a Lightning killer!

This is a good point, the springs from the "snow plow prep package" would be a good bet.

I traded in my sd v10 4 door 4x4 for my 150 when I sold my business last year. I'm thinking of a cool project truck.

It would be a great project, especially if you can do most of the fabrcation work. Get a singlecab short wheelbase truck so you'll have less weight to pull.

Good luck,

Scott
