torque

i have an 04 scab 4x4 with the 5.4. im not too impressed with the bottom end torque, it really gets goin after 3000 rpms but arent trucks supposed to make power before then? i have a custom "coffin" exhaust, could that be hurting enough to be noticable. what do you guys suggest to give me some more bottom end?

Hey Tako,
Welcome to the boards.
As someone that knows first hand, you can lose low end power with the wrong kind of exhaust. The Magnaflow catback systems seam to do none of that. They are direct replacement systems, meaning that you can do it yourself, provided the exhaust that is on there now is not welded at every joint.
A tuner greatly improves performance in these heavy beasts also. Poke through the computer chips section and you will see what others are doing and what products they recomend. There are a few other things you can do, depending on how much you want to spend. I'm sure others will chime in, but there's a start...Kevin
