Ringing Sound

It sounds like the truck is making a sort of ringing sound randomly, it sounds like its from the back of the truck. My dad seems to think its the brakes, says he thinks the rotor may be warped and that is causing the noise. Anyone else had any problems like that? Any ideas?

Might be rear differential howl? Lots of people have had to deal with that.

can you describe 'ringing' any better?

without a more detailed description, I might suggest checking the exhaust. Sometimes the heat shields can be slightly bent and vibrate on the muffler or pipes...

I think it is the ring and pinion. They are wearing out prematurly because they were not assembled strait. Mine has a whine between 50-60mpg. Ford just released the new gear packs. Getting mine fixed this week after 4 trips to the dealership.

Take it to your dealer and have them look at it.
