Thanks for the info Big D

Would it be safe to buy factory reconditioned units and save a couple of hundred dollars?

I checked out the Eclipse unit first hand today and im sold! It comes equipped with the Navi built in and is ready to go once installed. The touchscreen is nice and the player itself is awsome. At under $2000 its the best buy IMO. I'll probably order on within a month.

here in mexico we can drive and play dvd music, tv, movie or nav on dash .... the unit have a "wire" to deactivate screen when you are on "drive" just conect that wire to ground....

you can also see nav screen on dash with xm audio and see movie on headrest screens with independient audio on secon row

Most state laws are worded to read something along the lines of

"...all non-factory installed navigation systems are considered mobile-video and may not be installed or running in view of the driver."

That's the basics of the laws in arkansas, louisiana, texas and florida...similiar probably around the country.

It's just like lights - those cool euro super bright lights on BMWs are legal if installed as factory equipment, but NOT if aftermarket....the laws are wierd. (and this is just basicly..don't get all **** about every exception)

Mine is also set up to run a movie to a screen, a movie to another screen and then I can still listen to the stereo in the truck. (I have a set of wireless headphones also). It is also capable of running Navigation and a TV tuner into it. I just have not done it yet.
Just curious...How can you play 2 separate movies and listen to the radio at the same time?

Unless you have another dvd player I don't see how it'd work. Also if the movies are playing along with the movies, than the sound from the movies wouldn't be playing, at least I hope not.

This is what I am doing, and I will not have to worry about not being able to watch video while driving!

It will have TV/DVD/MP3/Sirius/Bluetooth/WiFi/Internet/GPS and anything else I can think to integrate with a PC. I will be able to copy DVD and MP3 to the PC hard disk to play anytime. I can use bluetooth to connect to the internet (using my cell phone) while I am on the road, and I can use WiFi to connect to the internet at hot spots. This is the absolute dream system!

And it will be cheaper than an in dash DVD/Nav system!
