New FX4 Do I make it "MY TRUCK"
It is odd that I only learned about these shorter doors when I started looking to replace my old 1997 F150 Supercab Lariat Flareside. The truth is the shorter front doors are also found in the previous generation of F150 Supercrew.
ya know, sometimes I'm amazed we can even build a car.
Okay, so I stand corrected. Supercab doors are longer.
When the guy who actually built them calls me and says there's one door, what else could I think?
Of course, when he calls back 15 minutes later and says he just remembered there was a different door for the Supercab, then I have to smack him around.
Carry on with your long doors.

I wish they made super crews with full sized doors so i could put my arm up on the window in the super crew.
I think the regular cabs have the same doors as the supercrews......
This is why the supercab is by far the most supeior model of the F150.

Okay so I’ve got my long doors, already tinted to match the rear, and I’ve got my Flareside box, which is not available in a Lariat trim. Would the Flareside box mean this truck is built in Kansas City and shipped up here to Ontario? VIN number says Kansas City and is that the reason I ended up with a steel driveshaft.

Hey it’s no big deal, the steel driveshaft works. It is just that I did pay more to order in a brand new 2005 when they had similar trucks on the lot and I don’t like to get ripped off.

If the steel driveshaft is going to work as good as an aluminum one, then no worries. My only other concern is the taping noise from the engine. If the sound I hear is not serious then I would like to install some sort of dual exhaust. It would probably be better to have a Ford engine technician listen to the engine before modifying the exhaust.

However, I did take it to the dealer before I had the exhaust installed, and they basically told me not to worry about the tapping unless it got louder.
