Super 40 is on
Super 40 is on
Finally got my Super 40 Flowmaster on this afternoon
Angled my Magnaflow 4" SS tips out each corner of the bumper...
All i can say is, it doesnt get much better than that!! Very happy with it, drone is literally non-existant, you can say what you want about Flowmaster, if you ask me they know how to make a V8 sound sweet.....I highly recommend the Super 40, those who already have it, you know what i mean
I'll get some pics up as soon as I get my hands on a D. Camera........

I've been thinking about putting a Flowmaster 40 on my truck. And I want it done the exact same way (angled out each corner). But I'd only do it if it could be done without welding hangers to the truck (because I'm so **** retentive it's not even funny. I guess after spending $28K on something, the following phrases make me nautious; "just weld it to....." "just get out your sawzall and cut off the......" "you'll need to drill a 3/8 hole in the......" "you'll need an angle grinder to cut the......." "hammer"). I love mods as long as they're bolt on
So, I guess my question for COFX4 is, how did you have your system installed?

First of all, the Flowmaster 40 series is quite different than the Super 40, which is new...(less interior drone) I dont think any of the hangers were welded to the frame, i know the clamps closest to the tips were bolted to the frame..i didnt look that close, and i could care less.....and obviously the pipes were welded to the muffler and tips for a good seal.......
Thanks for the info CO. I'll probably go with the super 40 too. Does it keep a pretty mellow rumble when you stand on it? I've heard a few of our trucks run by that sound like crap. More of a POP POP POP that you can hear across town rather than a deep rumble that you can feel in your chest.

You get the "pop-pop" only if youre in neutral/park and rev it. When under load it s just a growl and no pops.
Heres a cheap sound clip of my Super 40 SI/SO:

Call me old school, but I love the classic Flowmaster sound on a healthy V8 engine. Glad to hear that the interior drone has been reduced, but I never minded it on my 2000. Music to my ears.
I Plan to put their new super 40 dual rear outlet system on as soon as they "officially" expand the part number to include the 05's. Summit Racing has great pics of all the bolt on kits. Here's the 17393 (dual outlet rear) kit. You know with a muffler case this short, it's got to be good and loud:

No the muffler isn't black. I've got the 17394 kit which is dual out the sides after the rear tires and the muffler is the same color as the pipes. My muffler was the Super 40 and was too loud for my taste. I put it on a week ago and took it off already. Now I've got to get rid of it.
I am glad to hear some Flowmaster owners talk it up some now. All I hear about Flowmaster is how bad they are and I was leaning towards Flowmaster, but got hesitant by all of the Magnaflow talk. This makes me feel better when I finally get the Flowmaster on mine.

The super40 is loud but thats the way I like it. Plus, when the family isn't in the car, it's music full blast anyways

What is the part number of your super 40 flow master? I'm looking for a single in and duel out. But everything I can find that is single In / duel out is 3" inlet and 2.5" out (same for Borla). I was under the impression that the 5.4L had 2.5" pipes. Anyone know of a single 2.5" in and duel 2.5" out? Or am I crazy and the 5.4L's are 3" in?
