Another option - powder coat

I am sure yall are gettin sick of my STX and xlt forums. I am having real trouble deciding between the two. I just wish they would make some of the XLT optinos on the STX, mainly pw and pl. anyhow, i hate chrome, i think the color coded bumpers look so much better. If i went XLT, how much yall think it would run ti powder coat the front and rear bumper? Or do ya think paint would hold up on it? Will powder coat or paint even stick to chrome?

I know how you feel. When I bought my truck, I had to have power window and locks. I liked the look of the STX better than the XLT. (I also hate the chrome bumpers) So this catipulted me up to the FX4.
You can't paint or powdercoat chrome.

The FX4 would give you what you want. Depends on whether or not you want 4X4 though...Kevin

For bumpers I would paint them. Yes.. you can paint over chrome. Sand the chrome some and use an etching primer..... then paint. If you where going to powdercoat you would want to strip the chrome off first... and thats a b*tch to do.
