Clean but very low mounted...

Be sure to keep an eye on the road... I say this only because I almost had NUMEROUS rear enders because I found myself looking at the XM display rather than the road.... just a piece of advice from a guy who has been there and almost did that...

Question

Why did you add a FM modulated Pioneer unit? You could have just gotten the xm reciever and used your Pioneer HU to control it and had crystal clear digital sound rather than analog. Plus it would have been cheaper, unless you got a deal on that one somewhere.

Well, I couldn't turn this system down when it was free.
My dad bought a used Toyota Tundra that had this Xm system in it. So it was just removing it from his truck and putting it in mine..

Reason enough!

On the model before this one the the reciever for the modulated and the direct connect unit were the same. How does the the FM modulator and the controler connect? Is it through a single IBS cable (looks sort of like a big phone line)? Is so you could get a patch cord and connect it straight into your reciever and do away with control box and modulator.

yeah i use my pioneer head unit and terks universal reciever to control the XM signal. thats a clean install though, the only thing i hate about that little panel is the plastic moldings for plugs on the back. how did you deal with those?
