New MODS!!
Recently installed two nice mods to my baby.
First up, Ground Force...
Anything under a 100 bucks is a GREAT Mod!!! It took me about 2 hours to do the install.

Talk about a HUGE change in performance...
I did two test runs on my stock PCM tune from a dead stop to 60MPH. My buddy was in the truck working the stop watch.
Stock
Run 1 - 11.40
Run 2 - 11.11
Next I loaded the 93 Octane Tune...Muah ha ha ha haaaaaa..
Run 1 - 10.22
Run 2 - 10.08
WOW!!! Talk about a change. My mouth 'bout hit the steering wheel when I left a 5' long black mark on the highway. The rear end was trying to slide out from under me too. If I had not spun the wheels so much on take off, I probably could have gotten an even better run, but hey...I couldn't help it.

I got my shackles on this weekend, and it's probably one of the best asthetic changes you can make.
I want an XCalibrator, but I'm trying to save my pennies for a new scantool.

Sweet!! I love that truck Quintin!! Man, I can only imagine what the Xcalibrator can do to that 5.4L.
So far, I have really enjoyed every single modification I have made to the truck. I think it's time for some wheels and tires though. Guess I'll be saving my pennies for the next year or so. lol

Just got a pair of Beltech shackles myself but have not installed them yet. They cam with no shims. Doyou need to install shims for longterm reliability????????

My DJM shackles came without shims, I've got a very slight driveline shudder on acceleration from about 30-40 mph, but it's not bad enough to worry about right now. Might have been there before the shackles, I dunno.

I found it hard to believe as well, but both runs yielded the same results on the burn out. May have something to do with the fact that my truck has an open differential. I bet yours is a limited slip, but, still.... I would think you could do all the burn outs you wanted to, with the 5.4L.
My buddy said something about borrowing a digital video recorder, if he does...I will get a video of it for ya. hehehe!!

I'm not sure about the long term reliability. I've heard some folks on here complain about a slight vibration after they installed shackles on their 04 F-150.
For that reason I ordered the Ground Force Shackles, because they come with shims. It is very possible that I could have not installed them, and would have been fine...but, I figure since I got them, I might as well use them.

This being my first 2wd truck, I have decided to go the other direction with it. I have had lifts, and big tires on most of my other trucks in the past and I think I want to try the lowered look with this one. I haven't decided if I am going with a complete lowering kit or if I want to just leave the suspension as is, and put some rims and tires on it to fill up the wheel wells, just to give it that lowered look, without actually lowering it more.
I guess time and money will tell!
