I see Consumer reports still hates the F-150
Just received April addition of Consumer reports, in the issue they rate all the 2005 cars and trucks.
Under "realibility" they rated:
F-150 "worse" (black ball)
Dodge 1500 was rated "average"
Titan rated average
Chevy Silverado "average"
Tundra was rated "excellent" (red ball)
When you read their comments is seems all positive regarding the ride, features, and quality.
They didn't like the F-150 from day one.
Someone there defineatly has something against Fords in my opinion.

They're the same people that rate cell phones, washing machines, and vacuum cleaners. I wouldn't trust them to drive an F150, let alone rate one impartially.
After all, they're the same folks that discovered that short wheelbase SUVs with a relatively high ride height tend to get a little squirrelly if you drive them like a Mustang.

Who's driving your F150?...
What really matters Anaheim is how you rate your truck. I can't tell you how many things I've bought based on a Consumer Reports ratings and for what ever reason many fell short of my expectations. As a result, I made sure to go about my truck selection based on test drives, options, looks etc...

I believe Consumer Reports is a very biased and corrupt publication. Although they make many of their rating decisons based on fact, I bet a lot comes from whatever outside motivation they have.
I am not just saying this because they rate the F-150 poorly. I say this because they give just about every American made product a bad rating. And although I think many foreign automakers make a better product, American cars and trucks are not nearly as bad as they portray them to be.
Just my 2 cents.

Their F150 report is just another example of years of anti-American product bias. Another example: In a recent test of light truck tires they wax poet about how good this upcoming Hankook tire is going to be without a word in the text about the highest rated tire on the list, the Goodyear Fortera. They will test products and then downplay an American product if it wins.

Thi is the same publication that takes products(whether it is cars, appliances, electronics, etc) and rates them differently based on the name on the front. They take a product (such as Toyota/Prism or Hatachi/RCA) that is made on the same line with parts from the same parts bins by the same employees and one product is recommended and another is rated poorly and the only difference is the name on the front.
