My guess is that consumer reports is a magazine published by a company based in Algeria. Many times they base their reports on complaints observed by the company that makes them. Foreign companies may not report everything...they're foreign. How can the best selling vehicle (ford F series) be rated so poorly yet sell so many. I've had many items that CR has rated poorly, and most have been excellent. Go figure... It's just like movie critics, if they like them, I don't and if they hate them, I love them.

The F150 is not boring enough to get a good rating...

I remember a couple of years back, my brother had a GMC Jimmy, CR rated it poor, but they rated the Chevrolet version much better, as was said above, same truck, same parts, same people.

Biased, anti American is right. I wouldn't use CR to wipe my rear end.

Any truck or SUV comparison they have done has given the nod to the most wossy carlike one they can find. I agree, a bunch of dorks who all probably drive beige Honda Accords with the extra gold trim accents.

Then the one I go to is asking for a lot more problems! I cant stress to you how mad I am at my dealer for kicking me out!

The F150's are the best you can find..I'm sure if I had a Chevy Or Nissan, I'd have 20 times more problems then what I have had with my truck. I do love my truck though and wouldn't by anything but an F150!!

Thank god this report came out before I enjoyed one more minute or mile driving my truck.

I certainly don't need a magazine to confirm my feelings for my truck. I believe people who buy those magazines just don't know how to do their own research. Google and forums like this are a lot more appropriate than a magazine before you buy a truck.

And FYI my silverado which they say is better than the ford completely blew its tranny at exactly 30k miles...

Mechanical things break, and new styles take a year to work the kinks out of. Think of it like beta testing!

It appears that they want it both ways, in the front of the magazine they down the F150 but in the back, with the individual
vehicle results by year, every thing has a red circle, then they give it an x for reliability? Very inconsistant if you ask me.

Well, just as a negative, (one of the only negative reports) comes out of one, you should all noy that "Money" magazing called the f-150 on of the the top 15 best values in a vehicle and the best value in the full size pick up class.

I new I liked money better than consumers

Consumer Reports has ties with all of the car companies. Just depends on whose paying the most to them that year.

FYI... I took my truck in for routine mx yesterday and they had a NEW!! Built Ford Tough video.

WOW!!! Is all that I can say.

They broke apart a Tundra, Silverado, Ram and the F-150. The one spokeman from Ford was the narrarator. He has peices from all of these trucks and compared each. It wasn't even fair.

The F-150 build made those other trucks look like you were toy model parts.

Maybe the Consumer Reports @$$holes should check it out and get the real scoop and focus on "Quality" first.

28 years and running!!

Ditto.

I was over a cousons last night who is looking for a new SUV/minivan thanks to baby #3 comming shortly.

He had a CR truck and suv guide on the table and for ****s and giggle I looked through it.

Honest to god I think they blackdot every american in reliability. But they did that to almost every porshe and Benz also.

One thing that got great reviews though whs that sicon POS box thing.

Heres my question though. OK, they hate ford, I know that. BUT if Benz and Proshe are makeing such loads of crap, why do people line up to pay $100,000 for these piles of crap?

I think CR is owned by toyota. I dont think anyone with half a brain belives half the crap they print though so I dont care.

Im starting my own mag called "Unbias Reports" We will test things and give real opions. BUT, Im not one to *****foot in testing something. If honda gives me a ridgline to test and ford a F-150, Im takeing both to the brick supply yard and loading them with brick, then I will drive to a jobsite and beat on both like TRUCKS should be beat on. I will do this over and over for a year and at the end give my honest to gods opion which one is the REAL truck.

OK, before I stop ranting there was one thing I was LOL at. Honda says the ridgeline has "best in class towing 5000lbs" What are they testing aganst, a ford focus?

In CR they list the ridgeline as 5000lbs, BUT list the Ford Sport Trac at 5100lbs.

Such a crock of **** I tell you.
