2004 F150 P.A.T.S. key $20.05

Don’t get caught with only one key because it will cost you plenty. In the Owner’s Guide (pg 96 & 97) it tells you how to program a key. The only catch is that you need two different keys to program a third key. Usually the only time you think of getting a new key cut is after you loose one. I called my local Ford dealership for a price; well hold on to your hats, $36.23 for the key and $86.00 to program it.

I just received a new blank P.A.T.S. key today in the mail that I bought from amazingkeys.com on ebay for $20.05 ($13.99 / $6.06 S/H). Local ACE hardware store cut it for $1.37. Took about 1 minute to program the key myself.

(amazingkeys.com prices are cheaper on ebay than his web page)

Harley Davidson key blanks

If you want the Harley Davidson key blank, go to the following website, click on the "specials" link in the left menu, and scroll about halfway down. It's $19.95 and $3.50 shipping.

EDIT: Nevermind, the contact person told me that it won't work.

I paid $24.00 for a spare key at the local dealer and programmed it in about a minute. Seems like some dealers are not too ethical in their pricing for product and/or services. My .02 worth.

Okay, I lost my key & keyfob for my 2001 SuperCrew.

Is getting a replacement set from the dealer my only option since I only have one key & keyfob remaining?

I'm pretty sure I bought a replacement keyfob several months back off eBay (if I can find it!) Can you program a replacement keyfob with only ONE working keyfob?

This whole thing is making me sick!

Thanks for all your help!

sooze

Edit: OOPS! I did a "search" and didn't realize that this is not Supercrew's year.

I think so as long as you have two working P.A.T.S. keys. The key has the security chip in it that is read each time it’s put into the ignition.

I had the same experience. My dealership sold me a spare key, cut it, and programmed it for $24 or $25.

If you already have two working keys, a chimpanzee can program a third; the problem arises when you only have ONE key.

Ahh damn, two days too late . I lost my key and key fob two days ago out in the middle of nowhere, luckily I had my spare with me. It cost me $260 cnd to get a new key and fob from the dealer (including programing)

theoretically(sp?) How many keys can one program for their vehicle? 1-3-5-10-100+ (assuming one has both original or two keys already)
