fool me twice?

I bought my first ford, a 92 bronco against my mechanic uncle's advice. it was the biggest and most costly piece of junk I've ever owned. I said I would never buy a ford again. well 12 yrs later I see the new f150's and I thought I would give ford another chance, this time after my wife's rolling eyes. now after only 4100 miles and 2 trips to the dealership (it's there now ) well my uncle moved to ocala. my wife on the other hand.

just need to vent

I hope it's not shame on me.

it's not idling right, when I'm a a stop I feel like I'm sitting in one of those vibrating massage chairs. when I bought it, up to about 2500 miles it was perfect. I thought it was a bad tank of gas. a fter a couple more tanks at different stations I took it in. they said they reflashed it and it probably just needs to break in more.
I took it back today I don't even want to drive it. at the dealership I get the feeling they know about this problem and they just want you to go away and live with it. but after spending over 30 grand it better be perfect. or they can keep it.

If your truck is 2WD, Ford's aware of an idle vibration with 2WD trucks equipped with the 5.4 3V. Engineering's working on a fix. Mine does it a bit, to where it's felt in the seat.

Well my dad had a 84 Bronco that he bought as a theft recovery in 85...sold it with 148,000 miles on it and never did anything major to it (infact that was one of the tuffest trucks I have ever known of...351W with a 5spd). After that he got a 92 Eddie Bauer Bronco....put 136,000 on it and never turned a wrench on it (other than brakes and such). He traded the 92 in on a loaded 95 Eddie Bauer (the first brand new truck he ever bought) and he still drives it everyday and it has 198,000 on it. I said all that to say this....just because you got a lemon that doesn't make them all lemons.

Just because your truck has a bad idle, doesn't make it a lemon or a POS.
Let Ford fix the problem, that is what the warranty is for. If you think the Ram, Titan, Silverado, and Tundra don't have problems, think again.

I have to agree completely. If your dealer doesn't get it right take it to another Ford dealer. All the brands have some problems, but if you have a dealer who will take care of you, a few (and I stress few) problems are no big deal. It's when a small thing gets drug out for weeks because some dealer cannot or will not fix it that causes so much frustration. Personally I've never had a bad Ford truck and honestly I've never had a bad GM truck either (not trying to start a flame war here ) Don't go sour on your truck yet, they will get it right, or just take it to someone who will.

As 04SCREW98COBRA said, the Ram, Titan, Tundra and Silverado have problems too. All these dealers have service depts out back with plenty of work to do. The grass is just as green on the Blue Oval side of the fence.... trust me.

Good luck with your truck I hope they get it figured out.

I've got nothing but good things to say about my truck and the 2 I owned prior to this one. I think you'll find that a majority of people on this site are satisfied with their purchase. There have been some problems, but it appears that Ford is doing what they can to fix them.

It won't be shame on you, things will get worked out and you'll enjoy driving the best truck out there.

I can understand your frustration. You plunk down 30K you expect perfection, we all do. Give the dealer a chance to get it right because these are very nice trucks and most of them are basically trouble free.

Quintin,

Why do you say that this is only a problem with 2WD & 5.4 3V. That is what I have and I do have some engine vibe. I thought that I had read that engine vibe was inherent with the Triton motors. Mine seems to vibrate more after it is completely warmed up.

Thanks for the help
