Has anyone thought of protecting those pretty new black headlights? Expel makes a film to cover the headlights and fogs for $70.00. I have it on my truck, easy install.http://www.xpel.com/products/configu...247&series=483

While not my cup of tea, the chrome ones look 10000xs better than those fugly black things above. The black ones look like something you would see on a robot or something.

Well that did it....these pics pushed me over the edge so I just bought mine!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7960339252

I emailed the seller and the $10 discount to memebers of this board is still good...just deduct it when you go to pay!

Well I broke down and bought the last set available today. I cant wait till i get them. Just waiting to see how much customs is going to ding me.
My solid billit flame door handles and my polk audio mmc5250 speakers also arrived today. This is definately one of the most expensive days yet for my truck.

Later Trev

Guys,
It is so easy to do this mod yourself, if youve got a heat gun or an oven it can be done without having to pay hundreds of dollars.
The heatgun will loosen the adhesive and you can pry them apart, then you mask off with blue masking tape the areas to keep chrome. Ths would be the reflectors and the chrome surrounds arounf the reflectors and the amber as well. Paint it with a semi gloss black or color matching paint, let dry and reverse the heat method to seal it back up. Follow up with heat resistant silicone for insurance and youre done.

I would rather just spend the $200 on these...that way I know they are done right, they are sealed up correctly, and if I ever want to put the factory ones back in I can. I have spent enough on my other mods I am not going to shortcut one of the most visable parts of the truck to save a couple hundred bucks.

The ricey ones arn't that rice in the chrome. I like them, they are growing on me. However the black ones look horrible and shouldn't see the front of a F-150!

Getting rid of your OEM Headlights

anyone listing their old headlights in the classified? Like to try the heat gun method before i spend $200 on a manufactured set.
