Up or Down??????

I plan on getting some rims(22's at least) and was woundering if I should have my truck lowered in the rear with the drop shackles or lift it in the front with the daystar set up! I dont see the wheels getting put on any time soon, But cant stand the way the truck looks as is. So do I lift it until I get the wheels or lower it and leave it be until the day I bring some nice wheels home for it? The truck in my Sig is the one I'm refering to.

If your putting street tires on it than go with the shackle drop.

lift it and give it the 4x4 look until you get rims. Rims with a lift look awsome

my vote is down since you have a 4x2. However, you may want to wait until you get your rims to make sure you don't have any rubbing issues in the front. You may have to lift the front instead if it rubs?

IMO raise the front on a 4x4, lower the rear on a 4x2.

I have 22x9.5 on my truck with a 305 tire and and you wont experience any rubbing .. at all.

In my opinion, I think a 22 inch rim with a low profile tire looks horrible if you have it leveled with a leveling kit in front.

On the other hand, If you did 20 inch rims with an off road tire, then level it. That look is pretty sweet on these trucks. There's some guys in this forum that have that and it looks amazing. As for the Street truck looks - shackle the back end.

Even with a 2" shackle, my truck still has a little rake to it, which is annoying....I'm looking to drop the back end another inch or so.

DJM makes a great shackle, you can choose between 1" or 2" drop.

Any more questions, let me know, Ram SS/T can help you out as well, He's done the 24" rims on his. I think he's also workin with a 305 tire, maybe 315? I can't speak for him, but his truck looks great!

Since you want 22's, drop the rear. I'd also suggest loosing the nerf bar/ step. If your were going with a smaller wheel and all terrian tire, I'd say lift the front.

Up or down?

I ran across this truck at a local car show this weekend.
It look just about like your truck. I didnt get the tire or rim size. Was just walking by and stopped and snapped a photo.
Now that I have seen your post I wish I would have.
Anyway I believe they are 26's, not sure though, they look big. It was still at factory height.

My personal opinion is to drop it if its a 4x2. I went with the McGaughys 2"/4" drop and love it. The back uses new leaf springs and mount at factory location. No flip kit. So it rides exceptionally smooth. Just my 2 cents. Anyway you go up or down, I think you will have a nice ride.

Oh, dont go by my signature pic, I photo shopped it.

I currently have 22 inch rims on my truck ...from my viewpoint lowering the back would be the best thing to do ...our trucks do swallow rims because they are simply big but when i look at my rims and tires i feel as though on the front the fill the wheel well perfectly.in the back its a noticable difference ....I also live in new orleans so i dont want a wheel that is 2-3 inches away from my wells there isnt a place i drive that doesent have potholes ....somethimes i think i should have gotten the 4x4 just to traverse the city. neways thats my opinion.

Since it may be a while before you get the wheels and since you live in a sunny state I would go low. I would go even lower than you stated.
