tire spin

Just a quick question. I have a 2004 reg. Cab. f-150 with the 4.6L with 3.55 non slip gearing. I can't spin the tires from a dead stop but, if i put it in reverse i can easily spin the tires with no problem. Why is that?

The rearend is lighter and when in reverse you are pulling the heavy front end so it will spin. But when going forward you are pushing all that heavy weight.

i had the same problem. i wanted to peel out by just flooring it. i went to the dealership and they reflashed the pcm. after that i could peel out at every stop. now that i have a k&N filter and an exhaust i cant peel out anymore from a stop. took away too much torque but i have a fast top end now. The other day it was raingin and i was going 60mph and i floored it and i lost traction i was so scared i started to fishtale a little and i almost crapped my pants. it was pretty cool though
